Get ready for a BIG adventure! When Charlie finds a special treasure chest in Grandma’s attic, it opens the door to amazing stories from long, long ago.

With every new adventure, Charlie and Grandma jump into magical worlds filled with exciting heroes, cool creatures, and awesome traditions!

We didn’t take many photos, but the few we have are from the village where I grew up.

That’s a picture of me with your great grandma. Isn’t she beautiful? Your grandpa lived in the village next door—that’s how we met!

I don’t usually collect newspapers, but I held onto these. They wrote about your grandpa and me!

When we first arrived here, we met other immigrants and worked as servers at a Chinese restaurant. It was the only Dim Sum restaurant around at that time!

These are some of the classics I grew up with.

I remember your mom loved listening to Teresa Teng when she was your age—I played her songs all the time!

It was a long journey to get here. I even have a collection of my old tickets! They don’t make tickets like these anymore.

These are my old train, ferry, and plane tickets from when we traveled. Each one tells a part of my story.

Your grandpa loved collecting different types of currency. If you're interested, you can inherit it all later.

Each piece tells a story from the places he visited. It's like a little treasure map of his adventures!

I wonder what’s in that gunny sack. I can’t quite remember.

Wait, I think those might be my old clothes! These bring back memories from my younger days.

Charlie’s Treasure is an interactive web experience that immerses audiences in the vibrant world of East Asian mythology and folklore.

Inspired by the beloved stories our elders shared throughout childhood, the project aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of East Asian heritage by blending education with entertainment. This marks the beginning of what we envision as a growing 'treasure chest' of myths to explore.

While there are several variations of the myths surrounding the Mid-Autumn Festival, the first installment of Charlie’s Treasure offers an interactive exploration into just one of the many versions that have been passed down over the years.

Our goal is to honor the cultural heritage passed down by our elders, while creating a contemporary digital experience that preserves and shares these traditions with a new generation.
